We would like to share with you some thoughts about the mechanics of tank control in our game.
In the process of development we faced a dilemma: to create a perfect, intuitive control, familiar to many strategy games, or to take an alternative path. The first option would undoubtedly simplify the gameplay and make fighting with opponents more comfortable. However, it would also open the door to the use of bots and automated systems, which is especially critical given the game's money-making elements.
After much deliberation, we made the decision to make tank controls a bit more complex than usual. Our combat vehicles now have a certain "clumsiness" to them. It is not critical for gameplay, but it requires more attention from players when moving vehicles on the map. Tanks can get stuck or stalled, which will require additional intervention from the player.
We believe that this approach will not only increase the level of challenge and engagement in the game, but also provide a fairer environment for all participants, especially in the context of the in-game economy.
We are open to your feedback and suggestions on this aspect of the game. Your opinion is very important to us and we will continue to work on improving the game experience.
